When evaluating a used Caterpillar 336, verify the complete serial number and configuration before comparing specifications. Inspect a true cold start, smoke and blow-by, hydraulic speed under load, main-pump noise, swing bearing play, boom and stick weld areas, bucket linkage, travel performance and final drives.
